JAMB to make COVID vaccination compulsory for Candidates for 2022 – UTME/DE Registration Exercise

As staff undertake full immunization ahead of the 2022 UTME/DE registration exercise, JAMB intends to make COVID vaccine mandatory for candidates.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has indicated that COVID vaccination will be made mandatory for candidates ahead of the 2022 UTME/DE registration exercise. This is because the board has directed workers and visitors to show their vaccination cards before entering any JAMB office nationwide.

“According to available statistics from appropriate authorities, the virus is spreading like wildfire, prompting a clarion call for all to be vigilant, observe all protocols, and for institutions, public and private, to adopt relevant protocols to halt the virus’s spread.”

“In accordance with the existing protocols rolled out by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has resolved that no staff or visitors will be permitted entry into its offices across the country without proof of full vaccination.”

“In accordance with this entry protocol, staff and visitors or clients must present acceptable evidence, which includes a COVID-19 vaccination card and any identification card linking the holder to the vaccination card, preferably a national identity card, driver’s license, or passport.”

“As a proactive agency, the Board has adopted this protocol in light of its increased preparations for the start of the 2022 UTME/DE registration process.”

“We implore everyone not to be lulled into a false sense of security regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, as the virus’s increasingly dangerous dimension should be a source of concern to everyone, especially with the emergence of a more-virulent Omicron variant.”
